Jesus manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him. -John 2.11

Processional Hymn: # 384 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him,
for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
brothers and sisters draw near;
praise him in glad adoration!

Praise to the Lord,
who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
shelters thee under his wings,
yea, so gently sustaineth.
Hast thou not seen
how thy entreaties have been
granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord,
who doth prosper thy work and defend thee!
surely His goodness and mercy
here daily attend thee;
ponder anew
what the Almighty can do
if with His love He befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord,
who, when tempests their warfare are waging,
who, when the elements madly
around thee are raging,
biddeth them cease,
turneth their fury to peace,
whirlwinds and waters assuaging.

Praise to the Lord,
who, when darkness of sin is abounding,
who, when the godless do triumph,
all virtue confounding,
sheddeth His light,
chaseth the horrors of night,
saints with His mercy surrounding.

Praise to the Lord,
O let all that is in me adore Him!
all that hath life and breath,
come now with praises before Him!
let the Amen
sound from His people again;
gladly for aye we adore Him.

Welcome & Acknowledgment of Land

Call to Worship:
Eternal God, we praise and thank you
for the countless ways you reveal your grace.
In the beauty of creation, in the love of friends and family,
in the unity of your church, and the hope of your promises,
we find cause to celebrate.
Help us to remember that every good gift comes from you,
and to live in gratitude;
so that our lives may reflect the joy of your eternal kingdom. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Collect: Almighty God, your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ is the light of the world. May your people, illumined by your word and sacraments, shine with the radiance of his glory, that he may be known, worshipped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

The Proclamation of the Word  (Led by Lynn Gray)
First Reading:    ISAIAH 62:1-5
PSALM 36:5-10    R:  We feast on the riches of your house, O Lord.
Second Reading:     1 CORINTHIANS 12:1-11

Gospel Hymn:  #437 Jesus, Come, for we invite You (vs 1-2)

Jesus, come! for we invite you,
guest and master, friend and Lord;
now, as once at Cana's wedding,
speak, and let us hear your word:
lead us through our need or doubting,
hope be born and joy restored.

Jesus, come! transform our pleasures,
guide us into paths unknown;
bring your gifts, command your servants,
let us trust in you alone:
though your hand may work in secret,
all shall see what you have done.

The Gospel:    JOHN 2:1-11

Gospel Hymn:  #437 Jesus, Come, for we invite You (vs 3-4)

Jesus, come in new creation,
heaven brought near in power divine;
give your unexpected glory,
changing water into wine:
rouse the faith of your disciples--
come, our first and greatest Sign!

Jesus, come! surprise our dullness,
make us willing to receive
more than we can yet imagine,
all the best you have to give:
let us find your hidden riches,
taste your love, believe and live!

Offertory Hymn:  #441 Thee Will I Love, My Strength, My Tower

Thee will I love, my strength, my tower
Thee will I love, my joy, my crown
Thee will I love with all my power
In all my works, and Thee alone
Thee will I love, till the pure fire
Fill my whole soul with chaste desire

I thank Thee, Uncreated Sun
That Thy bright beams on me have shined
I thank Thee, who hast overthrown
My foes, and healed my wounded mind
I thank Thee, whose enlivening voice
Bids my freed heart in Thee rejoice

Uphold me in the doubtful race
nor suffer me again to stray
Strengthen my feet with steady pace
still to press forward in thy way
That all my powers with all their might
In Thy sole glory may unite.

Thee will I love, my joy, my crown
Thee will I love, my Lord, my God
Thee will I love, beneath Thy frown
Or smile, Thy sceptre or Thy rod
What though my flesh and heart decay?
Thee shall I love in endless day

Prayer over the Gifts: Living God, you have revealed your Son as the Messiah. May we hear his word and follow it, and live as children of light. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen

Communion Hymn:  #651  God  Sends Us The Spirit

God send us the Spirit to befriend and help us.
Re-create and guide us, spirit-Friend.
Spirit who enlivens, sanctifies, enlightens,
set us free, is now our Spirit-Friend.

Refrain
Spirit of our Maker, Spirit-Friend.
Spirit of our Saviour, Spirit-Friend.
Spirit of god’s people, Spirit-Friend.

Darkened roads are clearer, heavy burdens lighter,
when we’re walking with our Spirit-Friend.
Now we need not fear the powers of the darkness.
None can overcome our Spirit-Friend.
Refrain

Now we are God’s people, bonded by God’s presence,
agents of God’s purpose, Spirit-Friend
Lead us forward ever, slipping backward never,
to you re-made world, our Spirit-Friend
Refrain

Prayer after Communion: God of glory, you nourish us with bread from heaven. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, that through us your light may shine in all the world. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Doxology (Old 100th): Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Praise him all creatures here below! Praise him above ye heavenly hosts! Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost! Amen

The Blessing

Closing Hymn:  MV 120  My Soul Cries Out

My soul cries out with a joyful shout
that the God of my heart is great,
and my spirit sings of the wondrous things
that you bring to the ones who wait.
You fixed your sight on your servants plight,
and on my weakness you did not spurn,
so from east to west shall my name be blest.
Could the world be about to turn.

Refrain
My heart shall sing of the day you bring.
Let the fires of your justice burn.
Wipe away all tears, for the dawn draws near,
and the world is about to turn.

Though I am small, my God, my all, you work great things in me,
and your mercy will last from the depths of the past
to the end of the age to be.
Your very name puts the proud to shame,
and to those who would for you yearn,
you will show your might, put the strong to flight,
for the world is about to turn.  Refrain

From the halls of power to the fortress tower,
not a stone will be left on stone.
Let the king beware for your justice tears ev’ry tyrant from his throne.
The hungry poor shall weep no more, for the food they can never earn,
there are tables spread, ev’ry mouth be fed,
for the world is about to turn.  Refrain

Though nations rage from age to age, we remember who holds fast:
God’s mercy must deliver us from conqueror’s crushing grasp .
This saving word that our forebears heard
is the promise which holds us bound,
’til the spear and redcap be crushed by God,
who is turning the world around. Refrain
