I am writing to let you know that on August 20 your Parish Council approved the re-commencement of in-person Holy Communion services starting next Wednesday, August 26th (10:00 a.m.) Our Safety Plan was previously approved by the Diocese, and having reviewed the implementation of all the measures now in place, we are certain we have a system that will ensure the safety of all.
For the first three weeks we will hold in-person services only on Wednesdays. Assuming all goes well, and after making any adjustments that are needed, the plan is to recommence Sunday morning services on September 13th.
Tomorrow (Saturday August 22nd at 10:00 a.m.) we will hold an orientation session for our Greeters whose ministry will be key to helping parishioners understand and adhere to the new protocols. We need additional Greeters for the first couple of months and so invite anyone who may feel called to help in this way, to come out tomorrow to learn more about it and perhaps sign up (even if it's just temporarily!) for this important ministry.
While we long to see everyone's faces and smiles, we do require that all wear masks to ensure each other's safety. If you do not have a mask some will be available at the door. Please note that for church services, entry is only through the Harmston Ave. door and exit is only from the 5th Street door.
We will continue to provide twice weekly video devotions as before and, once we are set up with the appropriate technology also plan to provide livestreaming of our services.
I would like to personally thank all who have worked so hard and faithfully on this re-opening plan and for their high concern for everyone's wellbeing. In God's grace this new phase in our life together will be a blessing to us and our community, of that I am certain!
The Rev. Alan Naylor
